ADJ VIII ARA CIVIL COURT AWARDS 10 YEARS IMPRIONMENT OF FIVE PERSONS FOR BANK ROBBERY

ARA-------------------------Additional District and Session Judge VIII, Ara Civil Court, Neeraj Kishore awarded 10 years imprisonment to five persons in connection with a loot in the South Bihar Gramin Bank at Anaith under Ara Nawada police station. The court awarded imprisonment to Bottle Mahato alias Shiku alias Shashi Kapoor Kushwaha of Ratnadh village under Agiaw (Gadhani) police station, Shwetabh Singh alias Polati and Sudhir Raj of Godhana locality under Ara Nawada police station, Vijay Chaudhary of Anatih locality under Ara Nawada police station and Gaurav Singh of Paiga village under Badahara police station in Bhojpur district.

APP Ara Civil Court said that some armed miscreants had entered the South Bihar Gramin Bank at Anaith locality under Nawada police station at about 1.45pm on November 18, 2019 and had decamped with about Rs. 30.27 lakh from the cash counter and the safe of the bank. An FIR was lodged with the police under Nawada police station in this regard on the statement of the erstwhile Branch Manager of the bank Dinesh Prasad. After investigation, the police submitted charge sheet in the court against Bottle Mahato alias Shiku alias Shashi Kapoor Kushwaha. The court had issued non-billable warrant against Prakash Mali alias Om Prakash on March 28, 2025 in connection with his failure to appear in the court. The court also framed charges on March 22, 2022. Bottle Mahato and Shwetabh alias Polati were produced in the court through video conferencing from Bhatalpur jail.

After hearing both the parties, the court convicted Bottle Mahato alias Shiku alias Shashi Kapoor Kushwaha of Ratnadh village under Agiaw (Gadhani) police station, Shwetabh Singh alias Polati and Sudhir Raj of Godhana locality under Ara Nawada police station, Vijay Chaudhary of Anatih locality under Ara Nawada police station and Gaurav Singh of Paiga village under Badahara police station in Bhojpur district and awarded 10 years imprisonment to them and also slapped a fine on each of them.
