Bhagwant Mann government betrayed farmers: Sukhbir Badal

Lambi/Muktsar (RNI) Shiromani Akali Dal president Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal has said that the AAP government led by Bhagwant Mann in Punjab should have helped the families of 750 farmers who were martyred in the Delhi Kisan Movement, but the Telangana government did not. An aid amount of three lakh rupees has also been sent to Dakar.

After sitting in front of Punjab Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian's house for 1 month continuously, the families of the martyred farmers and farm workers of Delhi Kisan Andolan have been protesting for their legitimate demands (jobs and compensation) for the last 15 days at Lambi - Delhi Highway. Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal, while talking to the media after participating in the peaceful protest, said that the state government, which promotes itself as "faithful to the farmers", has not yet fallen on deaf ears.

He said that he reached the dharna today and heard the conversation of the farmer heroes, who have told that the Aam Aadmi Party government was not going to give jobs or compensation, but the Telangana government sent 3-3 for 750 martyred farmer families. Even the relief amount of lakhs of rupees did not reach more than half of the affected families.

He said that I appeal to Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal, who have seized power with the help of lies, that your double trick played with farmers and farm workers has been badly exposed, so please rub salt on their wounds. Instead of sprinkling, fulfill the promises made to them.

The president of Akali Dal said regarding the current farmers' struggle on the border of Haryana that he appeals to the central government to fulfill its promises and listen to the farmers.

He said that it is very unfortunate that 21-year-old young farmer Shubkaran Singh has died at Khanuri border and dozens of other farmers have been subjected to torture for which Bhagwant Mann is directly responsible.

He said that Bhagwant Mann should bring a bill in the upcoming assembly session to fulfill his promise to implement MSP on 22 crops.
