ARA--------------------------Additional District and Session Judge, I, Ara Civil Court, Amrita Singh awarded three years imprisonment to and also slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on the then Branch Manager, South Bihar Gramin Bank, Barisawan branch, Sanjay Kumar Sinha in connection with embezzlement of about Rs. 2.36 crore.
District Sub-Divisional Prosecution Officer cum APP Manik Kumar Singh said that some KCC loanees had complained about fraud in the South Bihar Gramin Bank, Barisawan in the year 2019. On the complaints, the Regional Office and the Main Office of the bank, Patna initiated inquiry. After the inquiry, the Investigation Officer found that the then Branch Manager of the bank, sanjay Kumar Sinha had embezzled about Rs. 2.36 crore from various accounts of the account holders and loanees during his tenure as the branch manager from December 15, 20215 to July 19, 2019 by committing fraud in which several complaints including illegal withdrawal and fake signature were found true. The then Branch Manager of the bank Shailesh Kumar Srivastava had lodged a named FIR against Sanjay Kumar Sinha.
After hearing both the parties, the ADJ I, Amrita Singh awarded three years imprisonment to Sanjay Kumar Singh and also slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on him under section 420, 409, 467, 468,471 IPC separately, All sentences will run simultaneously.
