GREAT RESENMENT PREVAILS AMONG THE RESIDENTS OF ROHTAS DISTRICT DUE TO NON-OPENING OF RAILWAY COACH FACTORY

SASARAM-----------------------------Rohtas Industries, Dalmianagar of Rohtas was once the economic backbone of this district but at present the industry has been closed for the last 40 years. More than one lakh people were directly and indirectly associated with this factory and this was their main source of livelihood.

The Railway Board had acquired land spread over more than 217 acres in 2007 on which there was a plan to open a railway coach factory but even after 18 years, the railway has not taken any meaningful initiative in this direction due to which there is great resentment prevails among the people of the district.

Rajesh Trivedi, the probable Congress Candidate from Dehari Assembly Constituency, wrote a letter to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav requesting that either the railways starts its own coach factory or lease this land to a big industrialist on which a big industry can be established and migration of People from here can be stopped. He started taking meaningful initiatives in this direction. Now it remains to be seen as to how much success he gets in this task. Although this is a meaningful initiative which the Government of India should seriously consider.
