AWARENESS PROGRAMME ORGANISED ON VALUE OF ADDITION OF FOOD PRODUCING FARMERS

ARA (RNI) Under the guidance of NABARD with the technical support of Antyoday Chetana Mandal, Ara and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhojpur, a one day awareness programme on value of addition of food producing farmers was organized in Library Building, Mahavir Sthan, Kulharia.

District Development Manager, NABARD, Ranjit Kumar Sinha, senior scientist and Head, Agriculture Science Centre, Bhojpur, Dr. P K Dwiwedi, LDMPN, B Rajesh Kumar Chaudhary and  natural farming subject expert Ravish Ranjan jointly inaugurated the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Ranjit Kumar Sinha said that today NABARD wants to see the farmers economically strong by looking at millet from the environmental health point of view. Explaining on the value addition, he said that by preparing many types of food products from coarse grains, farmers can get more value by bringing it in the market.

Senior Scientist and Head, SCADA, Dr. P K Dwiwedi said that excessive use of pesticides on crops and the trend of eating fast food are having adverse effects on human health. This made them aware of the adverse effects on human life and described millet cultivation as environment friendly and beneficial for human health. He explained the value of iron by converting it into nail and wire and bringing it into the market.

LDM Rajesh Kumar Chaudhary said that farmers will have to come forward as per the market and demand and for this the coarse grains will have to be technically prepared to get good prices as per the market. He expressed his view by explaining the government’s schemes in detail. Ravish Ranjan, an expert in natural farming and a progressive farmer, explained in detail his methods of natural farming, plowing his fields according to the constellations and using seeds as a low-cost method in agriculture. Ravindra Kumar Singh, Arun Kumar Singh, Ramgya Tiwari, Mahavir Dutt Pathak Kundan Kumar, Kosihan Ramendra Singh, Indra Jeet Patel, Ramendra Kumar Singh, Ranjay Kumar Singh, Akhileshwar Prasad Singh, Mithilesh Kumar, Guru Charan Singh, Ramishwar etc. were present in the program. Ram Nath Thakur conducted the meeting and Manish Kumar Singh extended vote of thanks.
