ARA--------------------------After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir in which over 27 persons were killed, the Indian Government ordered all Pakistanis living in different parts of the country to leave India at the earliest. After this decision, there is increased uneasiness among Pakistani citizens living all over India. Two Pakistani women have also been living in Ara, headquartr of Bhojpur district in Bihar for the last many years on Visa. Superintendent of Police, Bhojpur, Mister Raj informed that a Pakistani woman named Asari Begum in Kanaila village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district and Aansma in Koilwar area have been living on Visa for a long time.

The SP said that Asari Begum’s Vias is valid till the year 2032 while Aasma’s Visa is valid till the year 2027. Aamir Ansari son of Wasir Ahamed of Koilwar married Aasma of Karachi in Pakistan in October 2018. After marriage, Aasma came to India on July 22, 2019 on a 60-day Visa and started living with her husband in Koilwar in Bhojpur district in Bihar. After the Visa expired, she returned Pakisan and then in 2020, she came back to India on a 45-day visa. She again returned Pakistan on September 16, 2022 and came back to India on December 5, 2022 and since she has been living here. Her passport is valid till 2027 and she is legally residing in India on a Visa.

On the other hand, the story of Asari Begum who lives at Kanaila village under Shahpur police station of Bhojpur district, is also very interesting. She is a citizen of Pakistan and has been living in Indai for about 30 years by extending her visa. Asri Begum was married to Alamgr Qureshi of Kanaila village and has five children including four daughters and a son with the marriage. Her two daughters are already married in India.

The story of Asari Begum’s coming to India is connected to the India-Pakisan partition of 1947. At that time, a number of families from Kanaila and Ranisagar villages had migrated to Pakistan. Around 1995 som of these families came to India to attend a wedding. She also came to India on a two-month vias. During this time, she and Alamgir Qureshi got married. Asari Begum has been living in India since her marriage.

Asri Begum and her hushand have applied for Indian citizenship to the Home Ministry several times but have not yet given the Indian citizenship. However, her visa has been extended everytime due to which she is living in India legally. Now that the government has directed Pakistanis to leave the country, questions have started arising about the future of these two women. The administration has started checking the documents of both of them and their visa and other legal aspects are also beign considered. Meanwhile, the locals are also discussing the whole incident and are surprised to know the years-old stories of the two women.
