FORMER MUKHIA SHOT AT AND INJURED, POLICE ARRESTED THE MISCREANT WITH FIREARMS

Ara (RNI) Some unidentified armed miscreants shot at and injured the former Mukhia, Belauti panchayat near s betel shop at Saraiya village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district. The injured was identified as Ashok Kumar 49 son of late Mukhi Ram of Belauti village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district. He was former Mukhia of Belauti Panchayat and is at present a teacher in Middle School of Hariharpur village under Shahpur police station. He is admitted to a private nursing home at Ara. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Shahpur police station in this regard on the statement of the injured and the police arrested the miscreant with firearms. 

Ashok Kumar said that he was returning home on his motorcycle in the evening on March 16, 2024 after performing his duty at the school at usual. He stayed at the betel shop on the way for chewing betel when a youth came there running and pumped bullet into his body. He also abused and fired three rounds in the air. He somehow escaped and took shelter behind the betel shop. After that that youth fled away from the scene. He blamed Munmun Yadav son of late Sri Yadav of Saraiya village for firing. The reason behind the incident is stated to be a controversy during Saraswati Puja in the village about two years ago.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that the police arrested the named accused and seized a pistol and live cartridges from him. The police sent him to jail after interrogation.
