Ara (RNI) Speeding tractor crushed to death a minor child near Vishnupur village under Tarari police station in Bhojpur district when he was playing around his grandfather. The police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as A B Kumar 5 son of Dharmendra Kumar of Vishnupur village under Tarari police station.
SHO Tarari police station said that A B Kumar was playing around his grandfather near his house at Vishnupur village Tarari police station when a speeding tractor from Mopati village crushed him to death. The driver escaped from the scene with the tractor after the incident.
As the news spread, the villagers blocked the Bihata-Bihia State Highway for about two hours and paralyzed movement of vehicles. The agitating villagers raised slogans against the district administration and demanded compensation for the family of the deceased and arrest of the driver of the tractor. The blockade could be lifted after positive response of the police officials.
