TWO LIQUOR SMUGGLERS ARRESTED WITH IMFL AND ARMS
Buxar police, acting on a tip off, arrested two liquor smugglers and also recovered 15 cartons of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and country made pistol and live cartridges from their possession.
Ara, 9 May 2023, (RNI): Buxar police, acting on a tip off, arrested two liquor smugglers and also recovered 15 cartons of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and country made pistol and live cartridges from their possession. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Buxar town police station under the New Excise Act and the police sent them to jail after interrogation. The liquor smugglers were identified as Chandan Kumar son of Radhe Shyam of Manjharia village under Simari police station and Shyam Bihari son of Sipahi Mallah of Khairapatti village under Simari police station in Buxar district.
SHO Buxar Town Police station Mukesh Kumar said that he got information that the liquor smugglers were smuggling a big consignment of IMFL via Ganga river. He at once conducted raid on the bank of river Ganga and seized 11 cartons of IMFL and arrested two liquor smugglers. The Police also seized a country made pistol and live cartridges from their possession.
It may be mentioned here that the river Ganga is a safe zone for the liquor smugglers and they smuggle IMFL with ease via river Ganga. The liquor smugglers smuggle IMFL from Uttar Pradesh and stocked it at Buxar, Simari, Chakki, Brahmpur and Chausa blocks in Buxar district and supplied them in the cover of darkness to different areas.
