WOMAN DIED DUE TO ADMINISTRATION OF WRONG BLOOD GROUP IN ROHTAS DISTRICT

Sasaram, 24 June 2023, (RNI): One woman died at the Adari Devi Memorial Hospital, Sasaram in the morning today after she was allegedly administered B group blood instead of AB blood group owing to the dereliction of duty of the doctor in Rohtas district. After the death the family members and the locals went on rampage and damaged properties of the hospital.

Reportedly, Kanchan Devi 38 wife of Raj Kumar Gupta of Babuganj under Dehari police station in Rohtas district was admitted to a private clinic Adari Devi Memorial Hospital at Sasaram on June 11, 2023. When her condition deteriorated, a senior Dr. Virendra administered inadvertently blood group B instead of blood group AB that further deteriorated the condition and so the doctor referred her to the Jamuhar Narayan Medical College and Hospital where the doctor treated her three more days and the where the pathological examination found that she had AB blood group and when her condition did not become better the doctor referred her to Varanasi where she breathed her last after a week treatment there. Today morning the family member came to the Adari Devi Memorial Hospital with the body of the deceased and went on rampage and damaged the properties of the hospital. They also blocked the road and paralyzed movement of vehicles. They raised slogans against the doctor and demanded stern action against him
