BHOJPUR POLICE SEIZE 102 CARTONS OF IMFL, ARREST TWO PERSONS

ARA (RNI) Bhojpur police seized 894.6 litre of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) packed in 102 cartons and loaded in a truck on the Koelwar-Babura main road under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district. The police arrested the driver and the cleaner of the truck. The arrested driver was identified as Deepak Yadav 22 son of Surendra Yadav under Pakari police station area in Balia, Uttar Pradesh and Sachin Yadav son of Satyendra Yadav of Rasada Dihawa village under Nagara police station in Balia. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Koelwar police station against the arrested persons under the New Excise Act and the police sent them to jail after interrogation.

SDPO-2 Ranjeet Kumar Singh said that the police got information that a big consignment of IMFL was being smuggled from Chhapara district on a truck. The police at once swung into action and launched vehicle checking drive Jamalpur-Narayanpur main road. Meanwhile, a truck came from Chhapara at great speed. The police intercepted the truck and when searched the police seized 894.6 litre of IMFL of different brand packed in 102 cartons. After that the police arrested the driver and cleaner of the truck and brought them to the police station. The SDPO further said that during interrogation, the arrested persons said that the IMFL was being smuggled from Balia in Uttar Pradesh and was to be delivered in Patna.
