CHOWKIDAR KILLED UNDER MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

Sasaram, 6 July 2023, (RNI): The Rohtas police recovered body of a Chowkidar from railway track on Ara-Sasaram rail division and brought it to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Radheshyam Kumar of Ghusiya Khurd village under Bikramganj police station in Rohtas district. He was crushed to death under the wheel of a running Bhabua-Ara fast passenger train at about 11pm but the RPF got information of his death at about 1am. The SHO said that he was killed under mysterious circumstances and only postmortem report would confirm the exact reason of his death.

Deepak Kumar son of the deceased said that he could not understand as to why he went towards the rail track at about midnight when it was not his territory and added if he had to come home, he used to come by 9 O’clock and if he did not have to come, he used to sleep in his room inside the police station.

A Chowkidar lived beside the Shaheed Baba Halt railway crossing about 50 meter from the incident site but he came to the police station after the police recovered the body and brought it to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

ASI R P Mishra said that the person who wasgoing with track maintenance train, informed at about 12.45 am that a body was lying on the railway track. At about 1am, the police reached there and recovered the body. He said that presumably, it seems a rail accident but the local police are probing deeply. He further said that he might not hear the sound of the train due to earphone but he must have seen the light and added that it would be clear only after thorough investigation.

Manager, Bikramganj railway station Vidyadhar Vidyarthi said that a Bhabhua-Ara fast passenger passed through Bikramganj railway station at about 11.21pm and after that a train passed at about 6am.

Chief Manager, Bikramganj railway station Parmeshwar Lal said that if anyone came in contact of the train from front, the driver informed the nearby station but the driver did not inform about it that night and so the death of the Chowkidar became suspicious.
