DURING A DANCE PROGRAMME, ONE PERSON INJURED

ARA (RNI) One middle aged person received bullet injuries and was injured during a dance programme at a marriage ceremony at Chhotaki Singhahi village under Ara town police station in Bhojpur district. The injured was identified as Santosh Upadhayaya 48 son of late Matwar Upadhayaya of Mathila village under Koransarai police station in Buxar district. The injured was admitted to a private nursing home at Ara. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Ara town police station in this regard and the police are investigating the matter. The police arrested a youth so far in this matter.

SHO Ara town police station Sanjeev Kumar said that the marriage of Prabhakar Upadhayaya alias Monu Upadhyaya of Buxar district was being solemnized in the house of Suresh Chandra Pandey at Chhotaki Singhai village under Ara town police station and a dance programme was organized for the entertainment of the guests. Meanwhile, some youths quarreled over passing vulgar comments on the professional dancers and one of them fired and bullet hit Santosh Upadhyaya and was injured.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that some youths clashed during a dance programme at Chhotaki Singhahi undr Ara town police station in the wee hour on February 18, 2024 and a youth fired and the bullet hit Santosh Upadhayaya. On information, the police rushed to the spot and arrested a youth with a live cartridge while another youth escaped from the scene with the arms. He added that the police are investigating the matter and also conducting raid to arrest the second youth.
