25 guarantees including 30 lakh jobs in Congress manifesto

New Delhi, April 5, 2024. For the general elections, the Congress Party released its election manifesto in the name of Nyaya Patra and has given 25 guarantees including providing 30 lakh jobs if it comes to power, today. 

This manifesto was released by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi at the party headquarters. On this occasion, Congress General Organization Organization KC Venugopal, General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, head of the party's manifesto committee and former Finance Minister. Many senior leaders including P Chidambaram were present.

The party has named its manifesto as Nyaya Patra. Along with this, 25 types of guarantees have been given in the manifesto. There are 10 justices included. Congress has said that this manifesto is dedicated to the poor and will be remembered as a document of justice in the political history of the country.

The party has said that the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, run under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, was focused on this. During the yatra, five pillars – Youth Justice, Farmer Justice, Women Justice, Labor Justice and Share Justice were announced. Out of these five pillars, 25 guarantees emerge and in every guarantee someone benefits.

Congress has promised that if it comes to power, 30 lakh jobs in the central government, Rs 1 lakh annually to women from poor families, caste based census, legal status to MSP, MNREGA wage of Rs 400, stopping misuse of investigative agencies and PMLA law.

Congress has guaranteed to conduct caste census under participatory justice and abolish the 50 percent limit of reservation. The party has promised legal status to Minimum Support Price (MSP), formation of loan waiver commission and GST-free farming under Kisan Nyay.

Congress has promised to provide the right to health to the workers under labor justice, ensure minimum wage of Rs 400 per day and guarantee urban employment. Apart from this, many promises have been made including giving one lakh rupees per year to women from poor families under Mahalakshmi Guarantee under Nari Nyaya.

Congress has said the central government's contribution to pension for senior citizens, widows and disabled persons under the National Social Assistance Program is a pitiful Rs 200-500 per month. Congress will increase this amount to Rs 1,000 per month. At the same time, it was also promised to give 50 percent reservation to women in central government jobs from the year 2025.

Congress has also said that it will implement the 10 percent reservation for the economically weaker sections without any discrimination for the poor of all sections. In the manifesto, Congress has also said that after coming to power, it will consult with the state governments regarding the new education policy and make amendments in it. He said that corruption cases that happened in the last 10 years will be investigated.

The Congress promised that it will set up a National Judicial Commission in consultation with the Supreme Court for the appointment of judges to the higher courts. Encourage reforms in personal laws. The Congress Party manifesto claims that the party will ensure that like every citizen, minorities should also have freedom of choice of clothing, food, language and personal laws. We will encourage reform of personal laws. Congress says that such reform should be done with the participation and consent of the communities concerned and will restore the status of full state to Jammu and Kashmir.
