ARA-------------------------A meeting of Agriculture Task Force and Procurement Task Force was held through video conferencing under the chairmanship of Bhojpur District Magistrate Tanay Sultaniya.
In the meeting, the District Cooperative Officer informed that till now 80.30 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured in Bhojpur district whereas 1076 farmers have registered for wheat procurement. The DM expressed displeasure over the lack of expected progress and directed all Cooperative Extension Officers to establish contact with the registered farmers by conducting special camps and door-to-door contact campaigns and while ensuring procurement as per the set target and also make payment to the farmers within 24 hours.
During the review of paddy procurement, it was told that till now 48 percent CMR (rice) has been supplied in relation to the total paddy procured whereas the state average is 56 percent. Expressing dissatisfaction over this, the DM directed that action should to be taken against millers who do not supply CMR within three days of issuance of STR.
The DM sought clarification from the Cooperative Extension Officers of Piro, Charpokhari, Jagdishpur and Agiawn regarding the pending STR. Besides, the DM directed the District Agriculture Officer to investigate the damage to crops of farmers affected by the recent hailstorm and rain in Bhojpur as per standards and submit the report immediately so that relief can be provided to the affected farmers.
Deputy Development Commissioner Dr. Anupama Singh, Additional Collector, District Supply Officer, District Cooperative Officer, District Agriculture Officer, SDOs of Ara, Piro and Jagdishpur, District Magistrate of State Food Corporation and Other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
