POLICE SEIZED 11850 BOTTLES OF IMFL AND ARREST TWO LIQUOR SMUGGLERS

ARA-----------------------Bhojpur police and a team of Excide Department from Patna seized 11850 bottles of India Made Foreign Liqure (OMFL) and 40 litre country made liquor from two different places in Bhojpur disrrict and arrested two liquor smugglers and seized the truck. An FIR was lodged with the police under Giddha police station under the New Excise Act and the police sent them to jail after interrogation.

The Bhojpur police and a team of Excise Department from Patna jointly recovered 11850 bottles of IMFL from a cell made especially for the purpose in a truck near Kayamnagar Over Bridge under Giddha police station in Bhojpur district and arrested two liquor smugglers. The liquor was being smuggled from Chandigarh to Darbhanga but the police seized the liquor on way. The arrested liquor smugglers were identified as the driver of the truck Amit Kumar of Janata Colony Sector 1, Chandigarh and the co-driver of the truck Vikas Tiwari of Lakhimpur, Khiri in Uttar Pradesh. The police also seized the truck.

In another incident, the police, acting on a tip off, seized a motorcycle parked at the outskirt of Hetampur village under Bihia police station and seized 40 litre of country made liquor loaded on the motorcycle though the liquor smugglers fled away from the scene leaving the motorcycle behind.

The SHO Bihia police station said that the police lodged a named FIR against the owner and the driver of the seized motorcycle and the police conducting raids to arrest them.
