WOMAN DIED AFTER DELIVERY IN BHOJPUR DISTRICT

ARA  (RNI) One woman died immediately after delivery at a private nursing home at Nayaka Tola Mor under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district allegedly due to negligence of doctor. The deceased was Gudia Devi 20 wife of Vikas Singh of Bolipur village under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district.

Dilip Kumar Singh, father-in-law of the deceased said that his daughter-in-law was pregnant and she complained labour pain in the afternoon on February 4, 2024 and so the family members admitted her in the Jeevan Jyoti Nursing Home, a private hospital at Nayaka Tola Mor under Jagdishpur police station for delivery where the doctor advised that she would have to undergo operation. She begot a male child after operation but immediately after delivery, the condition of the newborn child deteriorated and so the doctor put it in incubator. On the other hand the condition of the woman also deteriorated and she became serious and could not regain consciousness and so the doctor referred her to the Ara Sadar Hospital but she breathed her last on way to the Ara Sadar Hospital. The police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Dilip Kumar Singh blamed the doctor and the paramedical staffs of the nursing home and said that due to their negligence she died. Police are investigating the matter.
