BHOJPUR DM TAKES AGAINST THE JE
Bhojpur District Magistrate Raj Kumar, taking action on the basis of an inquire report in connection with irregularities in construction of drains at Ward No 45, Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC), sent a Scamster Junior Engineer, Arun Kumar to his department of posting MNREGA.
Ara, 2 December 2022, (RNI): Bhojpur District Magistrate Raj Kumar, taking action on the basis of an inquire report in connection with irregularities in construction of drains at Ward No 45, Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC), sent a Scamster Junior Engineer, Arun Kumar to his department of posting MNREGA. He was deputed as the JE in the AMC. He also directed the Municipal Commissioner, AMC, to lodge an FIR against the JE. An FIR was lodged with the police under Ara town police station against the JE Arun Kumar.
A number of complaints were made several times regarding irregularities in different Wards of AMC and the DM Raj Kumar formed an inquiry committee comprising ADM, DRDA, LEO, Executive Engineer and two Junior Engineers Piro Sub-Divisional though the inquiry committee confined to the Ward No 45. The inquiry committee inquired into four schemes going on in the ward No 45 and found large scale irregularities in the scheme and submitted its inquiry report to the DM. Meanwhile, the JE Arun Kumar gave an application questioning the efficacy of the inquiry report saying that one of four schemes was completed but the inquiry committee included that scheme too in the inquiry report. Taking its seriously, the DM ordered inquiry into the matter once again and the inquiry committee submitted its second inquiry report on November 28, 2022. Taking it seriously, the DM directed the Municipal Commissioner, AMC, Neeraj Kumar Bhagat to lodge an FIR in this regard.
Four scheme of Rs. 1.01 crore was granted for Ward No 45. The schemes was of Rs. 18 lakh, second sachem of Rs. 23 lakh, third scheme of Rs. 44 lakh and the fourth lakh of Rs. 16 lakh for the construction of drains in the ward No 45 by the AMC.
Residents of all the 45 wards of the AMC and even the local MP Raj Kumar Singh demanded inquiry into the irregularities in construction of roads and drains but the inquiry committee inquired only in Ward No 45 but no inquiry was done in other 44 wards that caused resentment among the people.
Bhojpur DM Raj Kumar Singh said that action would be taken against anyone if found guilty of irregularities.
