ARA---------------------------554^th Prakashotsav of the 1^st guru of the Sikh Community, Guru Nanak was celebrated with religious enthusiasm and zest. A procession was taken out from the Sri Guru Singh Sabha located at Baghwa Gali at Ara singing ‘shabd kirtan’ with musical instruments, that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town culminated at the Guru Dwara. People also chanted the slogan ‘Bole so Nihal-Sat shree Akal’. People assembled at either side of the road to have a glimpse of the procession and also showered flower petals on the Guru Granth Saheb.

Ahead of the procession, the employees of the Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC) sprinkled water on road and the people of the Sikh Community were sweeping the road from behind the AMC employees. Panch Pyare in their traditional attire were walking ahead of the procession and the Guru Granth Saheb’s palanquin decorated tastefully with flowers was moving behind them. Bands, musicians and Disk Jockeys were following the procession. Women and girls were singing the kirtan. People from different communities participated in the Kirtan. People welcomed the procession everywhere. Later langar was arranged and Prasad was distributed.
