A speeding Pick-Up van loaded with cucumber crushed a herd of sheep crossing the bridge on the river Sone on Sahar-Arwal main road in the morning in Bhojpur district in which about three dozen sheep were injured while about a dozen died on the spot. Even two shepherds were also injured. This cause chaos in the area and traffic was blocked for two hours.

ARA-----------------------------A speeding Pick-Up van loaded with cucumber crushed a herd of sheep crossing the bridge on the river Sone on Sahar-Arwal main road in the morning in Bhojpur district in which about three dozen sheep were injured while about a dozen died on the spot. Even two shepherds were also injured. This cause chaos in the area and traffic was blocked for two hours.

The incident took place in the early morning when The shepherds Yogendra Pal son of Ram Kumar Pal, Ishar Pal son of Manrakhan Pal, Pappu Pal son of Ishar Pal and Rajendra Pal son of Ram Kumar Pal were taking their a herd of sheep from Bhadasi of Arwal district towards Tetaroua and Harpur villages of Bagar under Chauri police station of Sahar block in Bhojpur district with about 400 sheep. They were crossing the bridge on the river Sone on Sahar-Arwal main road when a speeding cucumber loaded Pick-Up van lost balance and crushed the sheep and two shepherds in which one dozen sheep died on spot while about three dozen sheep and two shepherds, Ishar Pal and Yogendra Pal were injured. The injured sheep were admitted to the Veterinary hospital at Arwal. Later the driver from the scene leaving the vehicle behind which the police later seized. The postmortem of the dead sheep has been performed at Arwal and the police are investigating the matter and are also conducting raids to arrest the driver of the vehicle. The district administration has started process of giving compensation to the affected shepherds.
