ED RAIDS AT THE JD(U) MLC RADHA CHARAN SAH
A team of Department of Enforcement conducted raid at 24 the residences and offices of the JD(U) MLC Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Jee and his partner Ashok Prasad in connection with sand related cases. Earlier the Income Tax department had raided his and his relatives’ residences in Ara and other places from New Delhi to Patna in the month of February this year for his unmovable properties for five days and detected financial irregularities amounting over Rs. 200 crore.
Ara, 5 June 2023, (RNI): A team of Department of Enforcement conducted raid at 24 the residences and offices of the JD(U) MLC Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Jee and his partner Ashok Prasad in connection with sand related cases. Earlier the Income Tax department had raided his and his relatives’ residences in Ara and other places from New Delhi to Patna in the month of February this year for his unmovable properties for five days and detected financial irregularities amounting over Rs. 200 crore. The ED conducted raid in Jharkhand too. Seth ji is linked with the sand syndicate for long time.
The ED conducted along with CRPF raids at the Babu Bazaar residence and the government residence in Patna of Seth Jee. The raids are going on at the residences and offices of persons namely Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Jee and Subhash Yadav linked with two companies of Broadson and Aditya.
Informed sources said that the officials of ED conducted raids at offices and residences of sand mafias including Jagnarayan Singh at City Centre, Sindari, Chanchani Colony Dhayiyaa, Polytechnic Road, Dhirendrapuram Dhayiya and Dhayiya in Jharkhand, Ara in Bhojpiur, Dehri-on-Sone in Rohtas Aurangabad and other districts in Bihar today. The officials of the Ed reached at Dhanbad, Hazaribag,, Jharkhand and Bihar on Monday and conducted raids at the offices and residences of the sand mafias in these area. The police force is deployed outside the offices and the residences and the officials are inquiring all the documents and papers related to sand businesses but the official refrained to say anything about the raids.
Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Jee sales ‘jalebi’ in the year 1971 and he inherited this business from his father. Later he started hotel and at present he has shops, rice mills, cold storage etc. He has a resort in Manali. He said that he achieved this high rank in business with his hard labour and honesty. He took loans from the SBI, PNB Granmin Bank and he is unable to understand the mess. He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi sold tea and he jalebi. He is nothing do with the sand business.
The officials of IT department knew his journey from seller of Jalebi to being MLC and raided 18 places including Manali in Himachl Pradesh, Harid4war in Uttrakhand, Noida, Gaziabad, Aligarh, in Uttar Pradesh, Ara, Patna in Bihar. He is big sand businessman and has movable and unmovable properties in different parts of the country. The IT officials had to requisitioned machine for counting money recovered from Seth Jee. He had been loyal to Laloo Prasad but for the last three years he changed his loyalty to JD(U).
