EFFIGY OF THE VC, VKSU BURNT
Hundreds of activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) burnt the effigy of the Vice-Chancellor, Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Shailendra Kumar Chaturvedi on the university campus and raised slogans against the university administration to press their 21 point demands and also to protest lathi charge on the students during the Senate meeting of the university.
ARA (RNI) Hundreds of activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) burnt the effigy of the Vice-Chancellor, Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Shailendra Kumar Chaturvedi on the university campus and raised slogans against the university administration to press their 21 point demands and also to protest lathi charge on the students during the Senate meeting of the university.
Chhotu Singh said that the VKSU had convened Senate meeting on December 23, 2023 and the Bihar Governor cum Chancellor of Universities had also come to take part in the meeting. The ABVP had protested the Senate meeting for the fulfillment of their 21 point demand peacefully and also in democratic way but due to dictatorial behaviour of the VC, no one bothered to pay heed to their demands and the agitating students were shooed away by the police forcibly. The police used fore and several students were injured. The SHO also thrashed a girl student in full public view though the Bhojpur SP later suspended the SHO but the ABVP would continue their agitation till the SHO was dismissed. The Bhojpur district and VKSU administration tried their best to gag the voice of the students. He stated that women are being tortured during the reign of the Nitish Kumar.
