POLICE ANNOUNCE Rs. 50,000 ON THE HEAD OF AN ABSCONDER UMA SHANKAR MISHRA, ARREST HIM TODAY

Ara, 1 July 2023, (RNI): Bhojpur police tightened noose around the neck of an absconder Uma Shankar Mishra and announced an award of Rs. 50,000 on his head in connection with murder of Kamal Kishore Mishra of Sonbarsha village under Karnampur police outpost in Bhojpur district. The award was announced by the Police Headquarter on the recommendation of Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav. In a press release issued by the Police Headquarter, the informer and the helper in the arrest of this absconder will be given Rs. 50,000 on June 30, 2023 Meanwhile, Bhojpur police arrested Uma Shankar Mishra from near Ara Ramana Maidan under Nawada police station today when he was going to meet his advocate and heaved a sigh of relief.

Uma Shankar Mishra is a resident of Sonbarsha village and is a named accused in the murder Kamal Kishore Mishra of the village, an eye witness in the murder of the BJP State Vice President, Bisheshwar Ojha. He is absconding since he came out of the jail on parole for four weeks. The police attached his properties on November 9, 2022 under Arms Act. The police also conducted raids at the houses of two rival groups in the village on May 8, 2023 and recovered one rifle and 70 live cartridges. He had come to Ara by train under mounting police pressure. He also disclosed the names of his helpers.

It may be said that some armed miscreants had fired indiscriminately and shot dead Kamal Kishore Mishra when he was returning from his field in the village in the morning on September 29, 2018 and also injured a person accompanying him. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Karnamepur police outpost against five persons of the village including Kishun Mishra, Brajesh Mishra, Raj Kishore Pal, Uma Shankar Mishra and Mukteshwar Mishra of Sonbarsha village. The police arrested all except Kishun Mishra and landed them in the Ara jail. Kishun Mishra is still absconding. Uma Shankar Mishra had come out of the jail on parole after the order of the Patna High Court in the name of his father’s funeral and since he is absconding and did not surrender after the completion of the term. The Patna High Court has taken strict action for his arrest and at last the police arrested him..
