SAND TRADER SHOT DEAD AT THE GATE OF POLICE STATION

Sasaram (RNI) Some unidentified armed miscreants in a while Scorpio waylaid and shot dead a sand trader at about midnight in front of the Rani Talab police station when he came out of the police station and escaped. The deceased was identified as Devraj 32. Later the police brought the body to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased had gone to the Rani Talab police station rescue his brother. The deceased was involved in several Green Syndicate active at Sand Ghats in Bhojpur district. Police are investigating the matter and also examining the CCTV footage installed in the market. The police also detained some persons for interrogation. The police recovered four blank cartridges from the spot. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Rani Talab police station against five persons including Ajay Kumar, Sarpanch, Berar on the statement of the wife of the deceased Sunita Devi.

SHO Rani Talab police station Durgesh Kumar Gehalot said that the police had arrested Pintu Kumar younger brother of Devraj of Berar village and seized a four wheeler parked outside of his house and brought them to the police station for interrogation in connection with a case. Devraj alias Laloo Yadav went to the Rani Talab police station at about 11pm to get his brother freed from police. As he came out of the gate of the police station after getting his brother freed from the police, some unidentified armed miscreants in a White Scorpio waylaid and pumped four bullets into his body and injured him. Later the miscreants fled away from the spot. The injured Devraj rushed to the AIIMS in Patna but the doctor declared him dead.  

It may be said that Devraj had invested money in the Sand Syndicate at several Sand Ghats including Sand Ghat No 13 in Bhojpur district.
