AFTER BROTHER’S DEATH, HIS YOUNGER BROTHER MARRIED HIS WIFE, DEMANDS MOTORCYCLE, BECOMES A MONSTER WHEN SHE REFUSED

ARA--------------------------In a bizarre incident, husband strangulated his wife to death merely for a motorcycle at Angarua village under Tier police station in Bhojpur district and fled away from the scene. The police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Sulekh Kumari wife of Mukesh Yadav of Angarua village under Tier police station. An FIR was lodged with the police under Tier police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreant.

Joginder Singh, uncle of the deceased said that Raj Kumar Singh Chasi village under Narayanpur police station had married his daughter to Vikas Yadav of Angarua village under Tier police station eight years ago but Vikas Yadav died in a road accident at Doriganj of Saran (Chhapara) district three years ago. After death of Vikas Yadav, she was married to her brother-in-law (devar) Mukesh Yadav with the consent of both the families. Since Mukesh Yadav demanded a motorcycle and tortured her mentally. He further said that in the evening, when his demand was not fulfilled, Mukesh Yadav strangulated her to death and informed her family members about her death and fled away from the scene along with his family members taking hers seven month old son Ayush with him. He added that they might do whatever they wished.

When her family members reached the spot, they found Sulekha’a dead in the courtyard. Her hands were twisted, a stick was lying around her and her hair was scattered. Her in-laws were fleeing from the scene. They informed the police regarding the incident. On information, the police reached the spot and recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

Joginder Singh accused Mukesh Yadav of strangling her to death over the demand for a motorcycle. The police said that the exact cause of death would be come to fore after the postmortem report.
