BHOJPUR POLICE ARREST A MISCREANT WITH FIREARMS

ARA--------------------Bhojpur police arrested a miscreant and seized one country made pistol and four live cartridges from him from near Chand Petrol Pump under Sikarhatta police station. The miscreant was identified as Santu Kumar alias Manoj Kumar son of Babu Ram Singh of Joga Kharaincha village Chauri police station in Bhojpur district. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Sikarhatta police station against the arrested person under Arms Act. Later the police sent him to jail after interrogation.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that Bhojpur police have launched regular night patrolling and vehicle checking drive to control crime. The police were checking the vehicle near Chand Petrol pump when they saw a youth coming with a bag in his hand. Seeing the police he tried to escape but the police chased and arrested him. When searched, the police recovered a country made pistol and four live cartridges from him. The SP stated that during interrogation, the arrested miscreant confessed that he had bought the arms to commit crime. The SP added that the police are trying to identify the arms dealer and also investigating connection with the arms smugglers.
