DAUGHTER-IN-LAW SOLD LAND DECLARING HER MOTHER-IN-LAW DEAD, ESCAPED

SASARAM--------------------A septuagenarian woman of Godari Nagar Panchayat of Karakat block in Rohtas district, Savitri Kuer alias Savitri Tiwari is still alive and healthy but she has been declared dead in the paper. This act has been done by none other than her daughter-in-law Reena Devi and the corrupt system. Savitri Devi is at the last stage of her age, the daughter-in-law, she needed at this time, sold land worth crores of rupees and ran away. The court has issued warrant in her name but at present her whereabouts are unknown. It took over a year to prove Savitri Devi herself alive. The then Circle Officer, Amresh Kumar and the Revenue Officer, who were indulged in corruption in the land same, have been transferred.

The state government has made online arrangements to facilitate mutation and also continuous monitoring and review is being done but with the connivance of the employees and the officers, many such misdeeds are taking place in the land matter which is becoming a lesson for the people. Had the erstwhile CO, Revenue Officer and the employee not blindly filed and rejected the case, Reena Devi, daughter-in-law of Savitri Devi would not have been successful in selling the land now would it have taken a year for Savitri Devi to proof herself alive. At present, the CO, Karakat said that the matter in sub-judice and so he is not able to say anything on the matter.

Dr, Santosh Tiwari, a relative of Savitri Devi and a resident of Godari village, said that on March 23, 2021, Reena Devi, daughter-in-law of Savitri Devi, in an affidavit in the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, claimed that her mother-in-law, Savitri Devi, father-in-law Ramashrya Tiwari and her husband Arvind Tiwari were dead and claimed to be the only owner of all the property and asked for permission to sell the land. Reena Devi declared everyone dead and sold about 3.5 bighas of land worth crores of rupees.

The then CO Amres Kumar and the RO had allowed mutation without investigation. When the matter came before the court, the mutation was rejected and cancelled. Savitri Kuer alias Savitri Tiwari took a year to prove herself alive. On March 23, 2021, the then CO Amresh Kumar had allowed mutation filed by Reena Devi but the court considering all the evidences, directed to cancel the registration. In light of this instruction, on June 28, 2022, the CO Karakat, Sanjay Prasad considered Savitri Devi to be alive and sent a report to cancel the registration done by her daughter-in-law Reena Devi. On this basis, the then CO, Karakat, Amresh Kumar, on July 3, 2022, cancelled the mutation of all the land previously sold by Reena Devi.

Savitri Devi’s life is going at the mercy of the residents of the locality. Ramashrya Tiwari, husband of Savitri Devi was in the LIC and died on February 25, 2013 while his son Arvind Tiwari, a senior officer in the State Bank of India died on February 25, 2020. A relative of Savitri Devi, Dr. Santosh Tiwar said that he proved that his aunt was alive by appearing in the court. After that the court imposed injunction on the land in her name which was sold after declaring her dead. Narayan Tiwari, another relative who gave shelter to Savitri Devi said that the woman who has taken shelter in his house is his aunt in relation. Once, her husband and son were companions of the local people in every sorrow and happiness but as soon as they died, his aunt’s daughter-in-law did wrong to her and sold all the land in her named declaring her dead.
