MARRIED WOMAN KILLED, HER SON INJURED IN BHOJPUR VILLAGE

ARA--------------------------One married woman was killed while her son was injured when a speeding Scorpio collided head-on with their bike near Petrol Pump at Pawana Bazaar under Pawana police station on Ara-Arwal main road in Bhojpur district. The deceased was identified as Ranju Devi 46 wife of Jitendra Rai of Banauli village under Narayanpur police station while the injured was identified as her son Anish Kumar 16. The police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there. The driver escaped from the scene leaving the Scorpio behind. Later the police seized the Scorpio.

Family members of the deceased said that Ranju Devi along with her son Anish Kumar was going on a bike to Ara to buy some medicines. Anish Kumar parked the bike near the Petrol Pump at Pawana Bazaar under Pawana police station and went to roadside to make water. When he returned and came to his bike, a speeding Scorpio collided head-on with the bike injuring mother and son badly. The police rushed them to the Ara Sadar Hospital but Ranju Devi succumbed to her injuries on way to the hospital.
