The court also slapped a fine of Rs. 1.25 lakh on him. He had to go undergo additional six months imprisonment in case he failed to give the penalty. Besides, the court ordered the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) to give Rs. 10 lakh to a nominated member of the victim’s family.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs. 1.25 lakh on him. He had to go undergo additional six months imprisonment in case he failed to give the penalty. Besides, the court ordered the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) to give Rs. 10 lakh to a nominated member of the victim’s family.

Speical Public Prosecutor, Saroj Kumari said that on December 16, 2024, a 10 year old girl studying in class V of Ward No 33 under Ara town police station, had gone to buy some flour for the family and she also told her mother that Narayan Sah was calling her. She went to his house but she did not return home. The family members searched for her and when they, on suspicion, went to the house of Narayan alias Vakil Sah, he said that the girl had not come to him but the family members did not believe his statement and entered his house and found the mutilated body of the girl under the bed in the underground rook of the house. Her clothes were soaked in blood. The accused confessed that afrer raping her, he strangulated her to death. Even the postmortem report and DNA test confirmed rape. The girl was stabbed more than 10 places. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Ara town police station in this regard against Narayan alias Vakil Sah. The court had convicted the accused on May 22, 2025 itself while pronouncing the sentence, the judge said that this crime was extremely serious and a slur on humanity. The court gave this verdict on the basis of the testimony of 12 people including the victim’s parents, grandfather, doctor, IO of the case and the SHO, Ara town police station.

After hearing, the Court found the accused Narayan alias Vakil Sah guilty and sentenced him to rigorous life imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs. 25000 under section 65(2) of the BNS and rigorous life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 25000 under section 66 BNS. He was also sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 25000 under section 103, seven years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 25000 under section 238 and rigorous life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 25000 under section 6 of POCSP Act. All the punishment will run simultaneously.

Bhojpur SP Mister Raj said that after the DNA report proved the involvement of the accused, action was taken under speedy trial and POCSO Act. He said that after the arrest of the accused, neither his lawyer was available nor any of his family members came to meet him. He said that a minor girl under Ara town police station area was raped and murdered and the body was hidden. The police took cognizance and immediately arrested the accused. The chargesheet was filed in about a month in which the court sentenced the accused Narayan Sah alias Vakil Sah to life imprisonment. The SP called it a big success of the police and the prosecution. He further said that speedy trial was started on public demand. In this case, the police requested the court for a speedy trial considering the sentiments of the people and the sensitivity of the matter. Accepting this, the court announced the verdict in just four montsh of filing of the charge sheet in the case. He added that the first hearing in the case was on January 3, 2025. All the witnesses appeared on time. Another pleasant aspect of this case was that no reminder had to be issued to any witness to appear.
