ARA----------------------------Additional District and Session Judge VII, Ara Civil Court Binod Kumar awards rigorous life imprisonment to the husband Devi Lal Thakur in connection with murder of his wife. The court also slapped a fine of Rs. 20,000 on him.
APP Ajay Kumar said that Savitri Devi wife of Nakchhedi Thakur of Bhopatpur village under Koelwar police station was married with Devi Dayal Thakur of Narvirpur village under Chandi police station in the year 1998 and she was killed on November 29/30, 2008. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Chandi police station some persons including the husband of the deceased blaming that her in-laws tortured and killed her merely for dowry.
After hearing both the parties, the ADJ VII convicted the husband Devi Dayal Thakur and awarded him rigorous life imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs. 20,000 on him.
