EXCISE DEPARTMENT SEZIED 1020 BOTTLES OF IMFL, ARREST THE DRIVER

ARA---------------------------Sleuths of the Excise Department seized 1020 bottles of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth about Rs. 6 lakh from a luxury car and also arrested the driver near Baluaahi Tola under Piro police station on Agiaw Bazaar-Piro main road in Bhojpur district. The police also seized the luxury car. The arrested driver was identified as Chandan Kumar son of late Uma Shankar Rai of Dariyapur in Patna district. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Piro police station in this regard under the New Excise Act and the police sent him to jail after interrogation.

Assistant Commissioner, Excise Department Rajnish said that he got information a heavy quantity of IMFL was being smuggled from Uttar Pradesh to Bhojpur in a luxury car. He at once formed a team under the Inspector, Excise Department Prakash Lal Rajak and the team intercepted a luxury car near Baluaahi Tola under Piro police station on Agaiw Bazaar and Piro main road and when searched, the team recovered 1020 bottles of IMFL from the car. The team arrested the driver of the car and handed him over to the police. The car was also seized.
