POLICE BRUTALY BEAT UP EVEN SMALL KIDS AND WOMENFOLK

SASARAM----------------------Kids and womenfolk are living under constant feat at Arthu village under Dinara police station in Rohtas district after the police brutality and torture. It is said that if the police starts perform their duty sincerely, the miscreants and gangsters of the area starts panicking but if the police descends into brutality, it is called autocratic rule. Senior officials of the police department are making every effort for police-public friendship on one hand while on the other, some police officers are still stuck to ancient behaviour. SHO Dinara police station Roushan Kumar is also one of those police officers who believe in brutality.

Pradeep Gupta, Zila Parishad North member said that the horror of the brutality with which the Dinara police acted on September 29, 2023 is still prevalent at Arthu village. The children of the victim’s family are forced to sleep outside their house in the street as the police have locked their houses and taken the keys with them.

He said that on September 29, 2023 at about midnight small girls, daughters-in-law of the house were beaten up badly. The incident of assault was not limited to only Ganesh Prasad’s family but the incident also took place with men and women of many houses. The police picked up two women separately without any case against them and sent them to jail.

He stated that the police tried to enter Ganesh Prasad’s house with a ladder but some police personnel got injured as the railing of the dilapidated roof broke and this marked the beginning of police atrocities. The story is still blaring. Pradeep Kumar Gupta further said that the only fault of this family is that the head of their house Ganesh Prasad did not get bail in a false case which was lodged in the year 2021 against 61 persons in connection with road blockade. Out of 61 persons named in the case, 60 persons except Ganesh Prasad got the bail.

Even after a week of the incident, people are still panic stricken at Arthu village. People told the story of police brutality in the night of September 29, 2023 raises several serious questions on the working of the police.

On the other hand, police said that an SI Jag Narayan Thakur with police force went to Arthu village to arrest Ganesh Prasad at about 5pm on September 29, 2023 but the villagers pelted with stones at the police force in which some police personel were injured and were admitted to Dinara Community Health Centre. In retaliation, the police took action and in the presence of the police force, the police arrested Ganesh Prasad’s wife Durga Devi alias Ruby Devi and Raj Kumar Gupta’s wife Malti Devi and produced them in the court and later sent them to jail under judicial custody though both of them are not named in any case.

On the roof of Ganesh Prasad’s house where the police force is being accused of climbing with the help of the ladder, a part of the plastic used for painting was present there. A police towel was also present which is subject to be thorough investigated. Rakhi Kumari, Ganesh Prasad’s daughter said that she was beaten up by a male policeman

DSP Shashi Bhushan Singh said that in the case of attacking and injuring policemen are creating obstruction in the government work, both the women had been arrested. The allegations against the police are baseless and an attempt to save criminals.
