BHOJPUR POLICE SEIZED 86 OVERLOADED TRUCKS AND SLAPPED A FINE OF 3.78 CRORE

Ara, 30 April 2023, (RNI): At the direction of Bhojpur DM Raj Kumar and the SP Pramod Kumar Yadav, a police team conducted raids at the Jhalkuagar-Koelwar-Dhandiha-Chandi main roads under Chandi police station to Koelwar police station in the night and seized 54 trucks illegally overloaded with sand. District Transport Officer, Mines Inspector, Motor Vehicle Inspector, SHOs Koelwar and Chandi Police stations, SAP personnel and other police officials were present during the raid. The Mines department lodged an FIR against four trucks under Koelwar police station. The Mines Department slapped a fine of Rs. 1.35 crore and and the District Transport Department slapped a fine of Rs. 43 lakh on seized trucks. The Mines Department also banned issuance of e-chalan till the payment of fines. 

Bhojpur DM Raj Kumar said that the campaign against overloading of sand and illegal plying of trucks would continue in future and the campaign has created ripple among the passing groups and illegal sand digging gangs. The DM said that no one be spared involved in illegal act and added that work on installation of Overload Management System near Babura Check-Post of Badahara block to check overloading is utmost completed and the system would be functional very soon.

Bhojpur DM and the SP also formed a second team comprising the SDO, Ara, SDPO, Piro, DTO, Mines Development Officer, Mines Inspector, MVI, SAP personnel, SHOs Narayanpur, Pswana, Sandesh, Azimabad police stations that conducted raids and seized 32 trucks overloaded with sand and were brought to different police stations. FIRs have been lodged with the police under Narayanpur police station against six overloaded trucks and two drivers one co-driver, three passers and one liner. Besides, the Mines Department and the Transport Department slapped a fine of Rs. 2 crore on them.
