India-Pak Ceasefire, Last Chance for Pakistan to Mend Its Ways, India’s Military Prowess Sets an Example

New Delhi (RNI) The situation remains calm for now following the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. On the 22nd of last month, Pak-sponsored terrorists brutally murdered 26 innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In response, the Indian Army planned Operation Sindoor which destroyed nine terrorist bases in Pakistan in a fierce attack on the night of 6–7 May. More than 100 terrorists are reported to have been killed in this operation.

According to Pakistani media, the entire family of Masood Azhar, accused in the Kandahar plane hijacking, was wiped out in this attack. Angered by this action, the Pak Army made an unsuccessful attempt to target Indian military bases.

Pakistan has suffered heavy destruction in the war that lasted for about 80 hours between India and Pakistan. Renowned senior journalist Dr. Samrendra Pathak held a special conversation with selected personalities from different fields on the situation following the ceasefire. Here are the main excerpts:

Former MP Danish Ali, who has been active in Indian politics for nearly three decades, said that this was the first opportunity for India since the 1971 war. Our army had reached a decisive position—then the ceasefire happened. He added that a third party, American President Donald Trump, is continuously taking credit for this ceasefire.

The former MP noted that this is the first time in 70 years that such a situation has arisen. According to the Shimla Agreement, India and Pakistan can solve any problem only through bilateral talks. He further said that the government should call a special session of Parliament to discuss all these developments.

Economic expert and Chartered Accountant S.K. Tiwari said that if the war between India and Pakistan had continued for two more days, Pakistan would have been divided into two parts. He explained that Pakistan was surrounded from three sides during this war. While India was targeting with drones and missiles, fighters in Sindh and Balochistan were targeting the Pakistan Army on the ground.

He added that while any war causes economic losses, Pakistan—which was already in a severe financial crisis—has now become bankrupt. It is now begging from the whole world.

Renowned social worker Dalip Puri, who is related to the family of former President late Giani Zail Singh, said that this response had become necessary for India after what happened in Pahalgam.

He said that Pakistan, which was continuously threatening nuclear attacks, must have understood in just four days of war that India is no longer afraid of such threats. Our army broke Pakistan’s back in 80 hours. This is the valor of the Indian Army.L.S.
