EXCISE DEPARTMENT SEIZED 1097.280 LITRE OF IMLF FROM TWO TRUCKS, ARREST A TRUCK DRIVER

ARA-------------------------Sleuths of Excise Department seized 1097.280 litre of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth about Rs. 20 lakh from two trucks from near Ratanpur village under Ara Muffassil police station on Buxar-Patna main road and arrested a truck driver while other truck driver escaped from the scene. The police also seized the trucks. A named FIR was lodged with the police in this regard under the New Excise Act and the police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the second truck driver.

The Sleuths of Excise Department, acting on a tip off, intercepted a truck bearing registration number of Bihar, near Ratanpur village under Ara Muffassil police station and seized 794.880 litre of IMFL hidden in a cell made for the purpose in the cabin of the truck. They also seized the truck and arrested the driver Naredra Sahani alias Pappu Sahani of Darawa Mathia village under Kesariya police station in East Champaran district. The IMFL was being smuggled from Uttar Pradesh to Bhojpur. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Ara Muffassil police station under the New Excise Act and the police are investigating the matter. Later the police sent the driver to jail after interrogation.

In another incident, sleuths of Excise Department seized 302.400 litre of IMFL from a mini truck near Teghada Mor under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district though the driver fled away from the scene leaving the truck behind. The police seized the truck also.
