NEW SAPLINGS SHOULD BE PLANTED IN PLACE OF TREES DESTROYED ON BIHIA-BIHTA ROAD—BHAI DINESH

ARA----------------------------Former MLA Jagdishpur, Bhai Dinesh said that enviornment balance has been ignored in the implementation of the Bihia-Bihta State Highway Project.

Bhai Dinesh said that thousands of fruit trees were cut during the construction of the Bihia-Bihta State Highway but not a single tree has been planted on the roadside even after the construction of the road which is a matter of serious environmental concern. And this reflects the government’s apathy and negligence towards reforestation.

He said that the fruit trees like mangoes and blackberry planted in olden times not only provided fruits to the passersby but were also an important source of rest by providing dense shade but environmental balance has been ignored in the implementation of Bihia-Bihta State Highway Project. He added that cutting down trees is harmful to biodiversity and also adversely affects the regional ecology. The fact that the government has not planted a single tree till now further increases the severity of this loss. He stated that it is necessary that the government pays serious attention to this issue and launches a reforestation camaign with immediate effect. New saplings should be planted in place of the destroyed fruit trees.
