INTER-DISTRICT GANG OF CYBER FRAUD EXPOSED

ARA------------------------Bhojpur Cyber police busted an inter-district gang involved in online fraud in the name of providing jobs. Six cyber criminals including the mastermind of the gang have been arrested. Four of them are from Madhubani and two from Darbhang. 27 ATM cards, five passbooks, two cheque books, two taptops, 14 SIM cards and nine mobile phones have been recovered froim them. The arrested cyber miscreants were identified as Md. Sultan of Madwaghat Balua under Maniigachhi police station of Darbhanga, Md. Faizal, Dastagir of Gidarganj village under Andrathadi police station of Madhubani, Md. Shahnawaz, Md. Tariq Anwar and Md Anas of Jamila Bazaar, Md Sultan is the mastermind of the gang. All of them have been arrested from Madhubani and Darbhnaga.

Cyber DSP Abu Saifi Murtaza, in a press conference said that Saruchi Kumari of Nawada Chowk locality under Nawada police station had applied for a job on the Quikr.Com site. After that, she was duped online of Rs. 29,800 in the name of completing GST and other procedures. A complaint was lodged with the police under Cyber police station on May 12, 2025. Taking it seriously, a team was formed under the cyber DSP.

In the scientific and technical analysis of the team, the name of some cyber criminals of Madhubani came up. On that basis, the team conducted raids at Madhubani and arrested four cyber criminals. During interrogation, all of them confessed the fraud and said that one of their teams also works in Darbhanga. On their revelation, the team also conducted raids in Darbhanga and arrested two cyber criminals from there and also sezied Laptops, ATM Cards, mobiles, bank Passbooks, Checkbooks and other items.

The DSP stated that during investigation and interrogation so far, it has come to light that this gang is being operated in Madhubani and Darbhanga districts only. However, complete informatiion about the entire gang is being collected.
